Group's Annual General
Meeting
Notes of the 5th
Colchester Scout Group AGM held on Tuesday 29th March.
Welcome and Opening Statement

Overview of AGM: Every Scout Group is a charity in its own right. As
such the charity trustees (the Executive Committee) are required under the
Charities Act to hold an Annual General Meeting to provide information to its
Members on the financial running of the charity, and to elect people onto the
Executive Committee to act as trustee for the charity. As well as electing
executive members and approving the accounts, the AGM must also approve who will
be 'auditing' the accounts before the next AGM.
The Group consists of two
sections at present: Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts, although we would like to
reinstate our Scout Troop.
